The generosity of Islanders08 Apr 2019
The results of the Charitable Giving Survey 2018 have been released and the key findings confirm the generosity of islanders across all Crown Dependencies.
Island Global Research, a market research and consultancy company, conducted their second survey looking at charitable giving behaviours across Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.
Jersey Community Partnership was keen to understand more about the levels of trust and confidence in charitable organisations across the islands and so we asked whether these levels could be measured in the 2018 survey.
Rachel French, CEO of the Jersey Community Partnership remarked: "The results are very encouraging and provide insight in to donors' giving behaviour which organisations can use to inform their strategic planning. 88% of Jersey citizens think charities make an important contribution to the island. This is reflected in their generosity with 96% of islanders giving money, time, goods or services to charity in 2018. The responses suggest that around £23m was entrusted to causes close to islanders' hearts."
The Jersey Community Partnership exists to encourage effective philanthropy and ensure a robust and resilient social sector.
